AIMAN INAM LONDON: A recent study conducted here at the University of Liverpool suggested that positive reminiscences create optimistic feelings in the individual psyche. That proves to be helpful in combating anxiety and depression. Lead researcher Peter Taylor said: “The findings suggest that the BMAC has the potential to be a practical and effective method for boosting mood among individuals with specific mental health problems such as anxiety or depression.” Scientists, working on the venture, have discovered that the feelings of societal safeness including comfortable positive affect have been augmented in the participants. Whereas, the negative emotions have been diminished. The conclusion was drawn after observing 123 patients. The results were published in the latest issue of the journal Psychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice.
