M. M. ALAM ISLAMABAD: High Court here has asked the legislature to amend the laws so that those leveling false sacrilege-related charges should be penalized. It may be recalled that complying with the Court’s orders, apropos registration of cases against those uploading blasphemous contents in social media, four accused had been arrested since March this year. One of the accused who was arrested last month by FIA has said that in his bail application that the video containing blasphemous contents was produced and uploaded on the social media by someone else. It is pertinent to mention here that Court had also ordered investigation by JITs and putting the names of accused in the ECL. Concerned authorities had also been instructed to include sacrilege and pornography-related sections in the Prevention of Electronic Crimes.
